Fast Economical Customs Bonds and Bond Renewals
Customs Bonds are financial guarantees to U.S. Customs for your shipment in the event of any liabilities, fines and penalties which CBP may issue in the event of non-compliance with your shipment.
Whether a customs bond needs to be posted or not depends on the type of goods being imported, their value and their amount. For items valued over $2,500 a customs bond is usually required. It is always best to consult with our staff if in doubt whether to post a customs bond or not.
- Single Entry Bond or SEB – as the name implies this is for a Single Transaction only and if arrival is by Ocean will require and additional ISF Bond
- Continuous Bond – is the most commonly used bond for frequent Importers and is good for 1 year from purchase. If you plan on importing more than 2-3 times a year, a Continuous Bond is recommended for a more efficient customs clearance process.
- ISF Bond – “Import Security Filing” is required when using a SEB and goods are arriving by ocean transport.
